I looked on the new website for Ventura County’s Elections Division, and could not find a list of of seats that will be voted on this fall. It is time for the Elections Division to put this online, because the filing period for the November Presidential Election starts July 16, which is less than a month away.
Right now, what is posted on the tab, “Offices Up For Election,” are the election races that occurred in the Primary Election on June 5. This means, if a resident is mulling the possibility of running for an office in November, on a city council or special district, like a board of education, or a water or recreation district, they have to telephone the Elections Division and have someone look up whatever city or agency they are interested in. That is not efficient, and takes staff time.
So, Elections Division, and Ventura County Recorder, Mark Lunn, please, please put up the seats coming up for election in November….
