Now Newbury Park Gets to Bite the Bullet on Water Conservation

September 29th, 2009 · No Comments · Conejo Valley, Newbury Park, Thousand Oaks, Water Issues

Thousand Oaks area customers of  California American Water Company are invited to attend a meeting about proposed mandatory water conservation measures.   There are two meeting times to choose from on Wednesday, 9-30…either 1:30 PM or 6 PM, at thePalm Garden Hotel, 495 N. Ventu Park Road.  For more info, go to :  http://files.shareholder.com/downloads/AMERPR/735728458x0x320763/49b9100b-0f14-4ca8-af97-015ccd6591fa/CA_AWK_09.23.09.pdf

There are three water agencies serving Thousand Oaks residents.  According to the city of Thousand Oaks website, the City Public Works Department provides water for 16,500 customers, or 50,000 residents.  In talking to a T.O. Public Works person this morning, I learned that Cal Am Water serves most residents west of Moorpark Road, with a few excepted areas, and Cal Water Service serves most residents east of Duesenberg Drive.
