I spoke at a gathering last Saturday of folks that I thought were pretty informed about what is going on in the Conejo Valley. Yet, when I asked how many knew what Calleguas Municipal Water District did and where they served, only a few raised their hands.
That is amazing to me, because Calleguas serves about 600,000 residents in east and south Ventura County as the water wholesaler, and is the major infrastructure builder to ensure we have an adequate water supply.
It is all about communication! I am asking for Calleguas to become more open and to tell the Ventura County water story, including our emergency readiness. I believe that would help our peace of mind, should our imported water supply be effected by earthquake for instance.
