And, I think, a fine time was had by all! About 40 of us showed up at Oak Canyon Park in Oak Park, for a tank dedication event hosted by Triunfo Sanitation District. As Chairman of the board this year, I was the MC, and had the enjoyable task of introducing everybody, and talking a bit about the tank. The board received 5 beautiful certificates for being a part of the tank construction.
Presenting the certificates to the board representative (me), were State Senator Fran Pavley, State Senate candidate Todd Zink, on behalf of State Senator Tony Strickland, Louise Rishoff, representing State Assembly Member, Julia Brownley, Jan Osterhaven for Supervisor Linda Parks (a former board member of Triunfo), and Barry Steinhardt, board member of Las Virgenes Municipal Water District. What a gathering! A bit of history
is that 2 former mayors of Agoura Hills were in attendance…Fran Pavley and Louise Rishoff.
Then, Susan Mulligan, General Manager for Calleguas Municipal Water District talked of water and the Conejo Valley and Triunfo Project Manger, Sally Coleman, talked about the construction and introduced folks from Lash Construction, Dudek, AECOM, and Padre and Assoc. Then, Triunfo Vice Chair, Mike McReynolds gave facts and figures about the new reservoir.
The top photo shows the new tank, as earth movers work to get the dirt in place to cover it. Second photo is of Mike McReynolds speaking to the group.
Amazingly, Mother Nature cooperated with the weather, and it was sunny and warm, with no rain. I gotta say that the ceremony was good, but maybe the visiting before and after was even better! Thanks to everyone who took time out of their busy lives to come to this…it is appreciated!
