Got Dirt Like Cement in the Conejo Valley This Time of Year

October 15th, 2012 · No Comments · Uncategorized

And, it is campaign-sign-time, too, which is not a good combination if you are a candidate.  I mentioned my frustration on Facebook, over trying to put up signs in the Conejo Valley in areas that have obviously not seen water in a while, and got a recommendation from from Marie Lakin.  Marie suggested using a cordless drill for making holes in the dirt, prior to putting the sign frame up.

Well, my drill still has a cord on it, and after looking at cordless ones at the Do-It Center in Agoura Hills, I decided to try an alternate method for getting a hole in cement-like dirt.  A friendly salesman took me right to the very long nail of tempered steel, that is shown in the photo along with my trusty hammer.

The hammer and nail work!  And, I can keep my $50+ that would have gone for a cordless drill!  See…I remain a financial conservative in my choice of campaign tools…
