And, it is campaign-sign-time, too, which is not a good combination if you are a candidate. I mentioned my frustration on Facebook, over trying to put up signs in the Conejo Valley in areas that have obviously not seen water in a while, and got a recommendation from from Marie Lakin. Marie suggested using a cordless drill for making holes in the dirt, prior to putting the sign frame up.
Well, my drill still has a cord on it, and after looking at cordless ones at the Do-It Center in Agoura Hills, I decided to try an alternate method for getting a hole in cement-like dirt. A friendly salesman took me right to the very long nail of tempered steel, that is shown in the photo along with my trusty hammer.
The hammer and nail work! And, I can keep my $50+ that would have gone for a cordless drill! See…I remain a financial conservative in my choice of campaign tools…
