A worker for the subcontractor fixing the Oak Park sidewalks for Ventura County came by yesterday and put pieces of wood on the sides of the dirt area where the sidewalk square was removed. I checked out the dirt this morning and was surprised that there was no rebar on top of the dirt to structurally support the cement that will be poured.
Is the contractor going to add rebar before the cement? We will see….
Editor at 10:18: There will be no rebar, according to the VC Project Manager. He told me by phone this morning, that rebar was used for projects like bus pads, not sidewalks. I guess the weight load on sidewalks is a little lighter…LOL
