There is a definite spot on the 101 Freeway going west or north (however you call it) that let’s me know I am approaching the Conejo Valley.  That spot is the offramp at Calabasas Parkway.
After I pass the exit, I feel lighter and more relaxed, leaving the density of the San Fernando Valley. It is definitely an Ah-haa moment.  Then, there is  that wonderful stretch of freeway going through the Calabasas hills, which helps me relax even more. Â
“The Valley” or the Westside of L.A., offer such a contrast to the Conejo. Sometimes I want the energy of the more frenetic activity around me, and I will head to either place. But, most of the time, I like our slower, more nature-connected lifestyle. Ah-haaa….

Hi Janna,
I used to feel the same way until recently. Now, as I drive down the west side of the grade I endure to odor of a treatment plant– sewage I presume, that is to the north of the freeway in a small canyon. The odor is always there and always so unpleasant that I have to put my ventilation on recirculate. I always thought properly designed and operated facilities were odorless. I would sure hate to live nearby. Anyone know anything about this?
Regards,
Steve

I feel that way when I pass Lost Hills. When I come up from Ventura, I feel I am almost home at Reyes Adobe.
