Brian Dennert Says There is a Rumor that Audra Strickland Running for Supervisor

January 7th, 2010 · 6 Comments · Conejo Valley, Elections

Ventura County Supervisor Linda Parks is up for election this year.  She is doing a great job representing the Conejo Valley in her second term.  I serve with Linda on the Triunfo Sanitation District board and am impressed!  While it is a small job for her, and only 1 of many boards on which she serves, she still gives it her full attention. She asked tough and needed financial questions that were not supported by the rest of the Triunfo board, until I was elected in 2006.  Also, she championed Triunfo having an all-elected at large board, again with no support until my election.  The all-elected at large board only was voted in last year when Mike Paule was elected to replace Ron Stark.

With this in mind, to read that Audra Strickland, who is terming out in the Cal. Assembly, might run for the Conejo Valley Supervisor seat, was a surprise!  Brian Dennert, in his blog, says Audra lives in Moorpark, so how could she run?  It isn’t even her district!

I guess we will just have to wait and see what develops, but I hope that Linda Parks will continue to so ably representing us.  To read Brian Dennert’s blog:  http://blogs.venturacountystar.com/dennert/archives/2010/01/audra-stricklan-2.html#comments-open

Supervisor Linda Parks was a leader in the preservation of 5400-acre Ahmanson Ranch.(Now the Upper Las Virgenes Canyon Preserve).
Save Open Space/Santa Monica Mountains (SOS) supports the re-election of Supervisor Linda Parks. Supervisor Parks has a strong voting record to support the environment and in addition is fiscally conservative.

Poor Audra needs to look for a job outside the public sector. First of all, she has no qualifications and she does not live in the 2nd Supervisory District. Maybe she’d like to follow Tom McClintock’s antics in using a TO address, while actually moving his entire family to Sacramento while he was supposed to be representing the 19th State Senate District.
Linda Parks is a hard working supervisor who puts the needs of her constituents first. She has worked tirelessly on such issues as stopping Ahmanson Ranch from being developed, protecting our open spaces and dozens of other important issues.
I support Linda Parks as my supervisor who actually lives in my district, but looks out for all of the people in Ventura County.
    Thank you, Linda.

The only candidate running that I’d vote for is Linda Parks. You can’t buy my vote with any amount of funds.

Linda Parks has been so supportive of protecting the quality of life here in Santa Rosa Valley and throughout Ventura County. Bringing in a carpetbagger from outside the Supervisorial district would be be a blantant effort for that person to get a political job for their own ends not for the benefit of the constituents

    Please……Audra Strickland? Nope.

Instead of looking putting her party’s agenda first, I’d like to see what Strickland plans to do on a number of issues facing me in my day to day life such as finding employment that will see me into the future and reducing the burden I face as a student with fees sky rocketing and classes being reduced. Strickland doesn’t seem to worry about me or others in my generation but rather how she can make herself look better then her opponents. We face real issues and need real solutions.
