When I first get up in the morning, I like to slide open the back door, look at the trees and flowers, listen to the bird chirps. I may not say anything, but I am thinking, “Good Morning ,Sunshine,” like John Denver’s song, or “Good Morning, Clouds” whatever is happening outside. That gets me grounded and ready to start my day.Â
Oh, and if it is sunny, I look forward to when the sun has barely come up and starts shining through all the green in my east-facing backyard. Then, it is an emerald delight! The sun makes the thin-leaved plants glow, and the thick-leaved plants sparkle. The large area of honeysuckle growing as groundcover, is especially beautiful.
Today, since it is overcast, I don’t think the emerald delight phenomena will be happening. So, I am concentrating on how wonderful the marine air feels, as I go to pick up the newspapers on the driveway.
Wishing you a good morning, too.
