Last Friday (3-12), the filing period closed for candidates for the June primary election in Ventura County, except in the case of an office where the incumbent is not running. Then, there are five additional days to file for that office.
In contention for the V.C. Supervisor seat in the Conejo are Supervisor Linda Parks and challenger Audra Strickland, who is terming out as State Assemblymember for some of the Conejo Valley. The V.C. Sheriff race is still open because incumbent Sheriff Brooks is not running. As of now, Dennis Carpenter and Geoff Dean are the two candidates. For V.C. County Clerk, who runs the Elections Division and County Recorder office, Jim Dantona is running againt Mark Lunn. And the office of V.C. Treasurer is turning into quite a race, and the filing date on the position is still open the additional five days.
This information is from a story in Saturday’s Ventura County Star (3-13), and the Ventura County website is unavailable right now, or I would list the Treasurer candidates so far.
