My 7-year-old grandson and I took an early morning walk along a stretch of Medea Creek in Oak Park. The creek is not channelized in concrete, but instead, meanders through the open space area similar to a natural stream, but with a little help from large rocks and concrete place here and there.
We saw two large “conejos’ hopping along, two kinds of ducks – mallards and white ones, and dog walkers with a variety of dogs. My grandson had a great time pitching small rocks and sticks into the creek and looking for critters. I had a good time, too.
