Longtime Conejo Resident, Marie Panec, Endorsed by the Acorn

May 27th, 2010 · 3 Comments · Conejo Valley, Education, Elections, Oak Park

No, I basically don’t post about partisan politics at the Conejo Post.  However, I do want to note that the 5-27 Acorn is endorsing longtime Oak Park/Conejo Valley resident, Dr. Marie Panec in her run to be the Democratic candidate for the 24th District Congressional seat.  Elton Gallegly currently serves as Congressperson for the 24th District.

Marie is a biology professor at Moorpark  College and serves on the Oak Park Unified School District board.  Congratulations to her for the Acorn’s endorsement, and for the endorsements of State Assemblymember Julia Brownley, and former State Senator Sheila Kuehl.   To read The Acorn editorial:  http://www.theacorn.com/news/2010-05-27/Editorials/Local_candidate_on_the_move.html  Marie’s website:  http://www.panec4congress.com

I like Panec, but Tim Allison is a much stronger candidate in the Democratic Primary. He is endorsed by the Democratic Party, CA Teacher’s Assn, Sierra Club, Lois Capps, Hannah-Beth Jackson, Jack O’Connell and the Sierra Club.

Panec will make a great candidate! It’s apparent as soon as you meet her that she is not your typical politician. Marie will stand up, speak out, and work towards solutions that make sense, from the economy to immigration. She is focused on bringing green jobs to CA, and supports real action toward cutting carbon emissions through innovation and efficiency, and will help keep CA a leader in research and technology.

Marie is the real deal. She is a real candidate, one with the qualifications, integrity and experience to govern effectively. Allison is the political darling but he’s a real estate agent/lawyer from Santa Barbara claiming to be an educator with no governance experience.
