The Latest on Ventura County Election Filings for the Conejo

July 20th, 2010 · 1 Comment · Uncategorized

No candidates had filed their papers yet, in the Thousand Oaks City Council race, according to a Ventura County Elections Division person at 3:30 Monday.  However, seven candidates have taken out papers, including two of the three incumbents up for election in November.  The incumbents Andy Fox and Dennis Gillette have papers, and Claudia Bell de la Pena does not.  Other folks pulling papers are Frank B. Akrey, Deborah Birenbaum, Ryan Cox, Charles Hartnett, and William Martin.

In the Triunfo Sanitation District race, where there are now four seats up for election instead of one, because of the switch to an all-elected, at-large board, four candidates have taken out papers, and two have filed.  Those filing are Phil Janke and Michael McReynolds, and those pulling papers are Timothy Nanson and myself.

Later today, I will check on school board races as well.

How much is the compensation? Does it follow the state regs? Evidently, the Bell City Council found away around it.
