Ben’s photograph is of Arroyo Conejo, a year-round stream, near an equestrian trail close to the western boundary of Thousand Oaks. He took the photo in January, 2007.
Ben Pankratz and his wife Lorraine have lived in Thousand Oaks since 1964. In 1990, Ben followed up a 34-year engineering career by founding and operating The Frame Gallery, which is an art gallery and picture framing business. The gallery staff included Ben, Lorraine and daughter Alisa. Alisa took over ownership of the business in 1998, but you can still say, “Hi,” to Ben and Lorraine there, as they continue to work part time. More of Ben’s photos can also be seen at The Frame Gallery which is in the Agoura Hills City Mall, on Kanan Road.
At the Conejo Post, we look forward to sharing more of Ben Pankratz’s photos with you.

Great shot! Brings me right back to the wonderful nature that I left behind in California: cool creek running through a dry canyon on a clear warm evening. The juxtaposition of calm pool and moving water parallels this canyon’s serenity and peace that is so closely bordered urban hustle-bustle. Thanks for sharing!
