Tuesday night, the Thousand Oaks City Council approved a large affordable housing project, according to a story in today’s Ventura County Star. Many Mansions will build the 60-unit complex of 5 buildings, and a community center, on a site of almost 3 acres, by Hillcrest and Los Feliz.  The Star, in today’s article, called it a “$26.5 million project.â€Â  The story: http://www.venturacountystar.com/news/2009/jun/24/to-approves-low-income-housing-complex/ Many Mansions: http://www.manymansions.org

I hope they can pull it off. This is a much needed project serving an ever growing invisible homeless population. What is important to remember is this is about providing housing to families. Hopefully, they will be able to incorporate social, and mental health services to get these families to enable them to get on their feet and to afford housing elsewhere.
