This evening, I did a check at the Ventura County website on Triunfo Sanitation District candidate papers and filings, along with Oak Park MAC. Here is the latest, as of August 2nd.
For TSD, incumbent Janna Orkney has filed (hey, that’s me!), along with Ray Tjulander of T.O., and Phil Janke, Michael McReynolds, and Ron Stark of Oak Park. Timothy Nanson and James Wall of T.O. have pulled papers, as have Dean Fields and Derek Ross of Oak Park, and Steven Price of Bell Canyon. There are four seats open, because of the district going to an all-elected, at-large board, and since 5 candidates have filing for 4 positions so far, there will be an election, instead of appointment in-lieu of election.
The Oak Park MAC filings are a contrast to TSD. Only incumbents Mike Paule and Mike Green have filed, and Alon Glickstein has pulled papers for the three spots up for election.
Stay tuned. TSD has till Friday for papers to be turned in because the incumbent (me) has filed. Right now, we don’t know the closing period for the OP MAC, because incumbent Jay Kapitz has not pulled papers or filed, and if he does not by Friday, that will extend the filing period.
