I spoke of my quandry earlier, of choosing between a dumb phone and a smart phone. Mark Mountain wrote this in as a comment, but I want to print it as a post, too.
Mark says, “Being in IT, I am often asked about smart phones. My general answer is do your research. Sit down and ask yourself, what do I want to use my phone for besides making and receiving calls? In my case, it is all about the email. So for me, I found the best choice to be a lower end Blackberry (I have the 8330 Curve). In the case of one of my coworkers, he wanted better web browsing and the email was secondary, so he chose a HTC Hero. Decide what is important to you, then look for a phone that does as many of them well as possible. Lastly read reviews!”
Why didn’t I talk to Mark first, before buying on impulse? Incidentally, I did decide I bought the wrong smart phone for me, and did return it.
