Debra Bowen, California Secretary of State, toured the Ventura County Elections Division office in Ventura yesterday (8-16). Bowen met with newly elected County Clerk, Mark Lunn, who is in charge of the Elections office, along with Chair of the Board of Supervisors, Kathy Long.
According to an article in today’s (8-17) Star, Bowen talked of having video cameras inside county elections offices, to give a live stream of the ballot counting on election night. The article reported that Lunn said he “would be supportive of any effort to make the election process more transparent.” Bowen also talked of cooperating with the Department of Motor Vehicles, using their database as a way to prevent duplicate registrations and to prevent other errors.
