Linda Parks, Ventura County Supervisor for the Conejo Valley, was scheduled to announce this evening, that she is opening her campaign to run for the supervisor seat she now holds. The election will be in 2010.
Unfortunately, I could not attend the announcement in front of her office on Thousand Oaks Blvd, and missed the party afterwards at nearby eatery, Chocolatine. Politics, and chocolate…definitely 2 of my favorite things, and I had to miss them!
Parks sent a quote from her website, www.voteforparks.com, to the Conejo Post.  She says, “Now more than ever, we need advocates on the Board of Supervisors that will ensure resources for public safety and core government services, see that our environment isn’t sacrificed for a quick buck, and that those in need are treated with compassion.”Â
It will be interesting to see, in the coming months, if anyone steps up to run against her.

Good luck. I wish her the best.
