Thousand Oaks Laying Larger Sewer Pipe

August 31st, 2010 · No Comments · Conejo Valley, Development, Thousand Oaks, Water Issues

If you have driven by the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza lately, you know that Thousand Oaks Boulevard is a mess.  The good news is that it seems to be an organized mess, and even though T.O. Boulevard reduces to one lane in either direction for part of the construction area, I did not experience a slowing or backup driving by.

Here are photos taken today, just east and west of Dallas Drive, the entrance to the Civic Arts Plaza.  I checked the road work on the Thousand Oaks website and found that 1,100 feet of 15-inch sewer pipe is being replaced with 18-inch pipe.  The website note said the purpose was for better pipe capacity during peak flows.

Kudos to the City of Thousand Oaks for its interactive public works project map!  Now I know were to go with any questions about city projects, that I may have in the future.  Here is a link to the map:  http://toaks.org/government/depts/public_works/project_map.asp
