Owls Are In

September 1st, 2010 · No Comments · Conejo Valley, Economy, Education, Thousand Oaks

While shopping in a store at the Oaks Mall in Thousand Oaks with my granddaugther last week, I happened to notice chains with owl pendants on display.  I pointed them out to my knowledgeable thirteen-year-old descendent, who told me, “Grandma, owls are in, right now.”  “Who-whoooo knew?”

Then, I realized I had been seeing a lot of  jewelry lately featuring these night hunters, often as pendants, with the owls large and segmented, so they can bend.   It is not something I would want to wear, but I guess I am somewhat conservative in the jewelry department.

A mystery was also cleared up on the shopping trip.  Of course, I know what leggings are, but was mystified to see “jeggings” advertised.  I got the answer that they are leggings that look like jeans, or jeans that fit like leggings.

See, the mall can be so educational!
