The sidewalk is now installed for the new angled parking places, being created by the City of Thousand Oaks, with the goal of increasing shoppers at the Lakes Mall. This photo was taken today (9-5), and it also shows a line of new cement, running next to Thousand Oaks Boulevard.
The new Thousand Oaks interactive public works map lists the angled parking project as completing in September. Here is a link to the map: http://www.toaks.org/government/depts/public_works/project_map.asp Incidentally, I am a fan of the map, which must reduce calls to City Hall to inquire about projects around T.O. Here is a link to this week’s editorial in the T.O. Acorn, titled, “Stop Spending Tax Dollars at the Lakes,” http://www.toacorn.com/news/2010-09-02/Editorials/Stop_spending_tax_dollars_on_The_Lakes.html The T.O. Acorn figures the cost of each parking place at $15,500!

What a mess. What a mistake. What a misuse of funds.
