According to The Star, more than 100 folks showed up for a meeting in Newbury Park on Wednesday evening, that was put on by Ventura County Supervisor Linda Parks. The purpose of the meeting was to look at the possibility of forming a Municipal Advisory Council for the approximately 3,000 residents living in an unincorporated area of Newbury Park., known as Casa Conejo. Various speakers talked about the benefits of having a MAC.
The expectation is that the Board of Supervisors will approve the MAC’s formation in July, Linda said. It would be the second one in the Conejo Valley, joining the existing Oak Park MAC that serves over 15,000 residents in that community. To read more, http://www.venturacountystar.com/news/2009/may/28/newbury-park-council-being-formed/
