It was reported yesterday (Monday, 4-11) that director James Cameron has signed a lease for office and studio space in Manhattan Beach for filming of Avatar 2 and Avatar 3. According to the Hollywood Reporter, Cameron had considered space in Agoura Hills as a possible location for producing the two movies.
Earlier this year, Cameron had been in talks with the owner of an Agoura Hills business park about constructing a building for his company, Lightstorm, the Hollywood Reporter article said. While the property owner, Realty Bancorp Equities, had obtained preliminary approvals for the building, the city has not been contacted by the developer in several months.
According to a referencein the article to The Toronto Sun Newspaper, Cameron was interested in the Agoura Hills property, because it was close to his mother’s home.
