Smoother and quieter…that is the way Caltrans officials describe how the 101 Freeway will be through the Conejo Valley, once the new concrete is sanded and resurfaced. That is according to an article in the 5-20 VC Star. Roy Fisher of Caltrans said in the VC Star story, that we drivers are having to deal with “broken slabs and bumps in the road,” but he said grinding of the slabs is coming, and then a new surface of rubberized asphalt will be applied.
The repaving project effecting Conejo Valley to the west, is a $31 million one, going from Westlake Boulevard to Pleasant Valley Boulevard in Camarillo. To the east, is a $17 million project that covers the 101 Freeway from Las Virgenes Road to the Ventura County line.
