Conejo Valley Props and Disses, or Pats and Pans

August 23rd, 2009 · 1 Comment · Agoura Hills, Westlake Village

I am just putting together the “What’s Happening in the Conejo” for next week, which means I visit a lot of official websites.  Some websites make it easy to find meeting information, and some don’t.

I appreciate the city website of Agoura Hills, because right on the first page is a list of meetings and events.  I can then click on any of the meetings listed for more info.  Thanks, Agoura Hills, for making it easy for your residents and me to find out what is going on fast.  My only complaint is that the URL for the city website is so complicated, I can never remember it.  Here it is:  http://ci.agoura-hills.ca.us/

I am less than happy trying to get info from the city of Westlake Village website.  On their home page, under “City Profile,” it does say that the City Council meets the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays at 6:30.  Then, I have to go to a list on the left, titled, “City Council,” and run through the names of the council members, to get to City Council Agendas/Minutes.  I clicked on that and the last meeting listed is one dated last Thursday, August 20.  Obviously not a 2nd or 4th Wednesday!  I clicked on it, and turns out, it was a Special Meeting on whether to have an election or not, because only incumbents filed papers for the November relection.

So, my question is…is there a Westlake Village City Council meeting this Wednesday, August 26?  I don’t know, so I can’t post it on the Conejo Post schedule.  Hey, but Westlake Village does have a nifty URL.  It is:  www.WLV.org.  I can remember that.

Hi Janna, we have found the Agoura Hills site to be well organized and helpful. There is an effort underway requesting that Calabasas (and other cities) provide a “notification” system similar to AH, Malibu, SAMO, and others. Read more about it in the August newsletter at http://www.lvhf.org.
