How would you like to look up what your local officials are being paid and what their benefits are? Well you can! The California State Controller, John Chiang, lists compensation information on his state website. Currently, the website is showing figures for calendar year, 2009, but the 2010 information should be posted soon, I was told. I have a bunch of links for you.
Here is the link the Ventura County Special Districts information: http://lgcr.sco.ca.gov/EntityList.aspx?entity=SpecialDistrict&load=ByDefault&CountyName=Ventura&year=2009, along with a link for California cities, in alphabetical order: http://lgcr.sco.ca.gov/EntityList.aspx?entity=City&load=ByDefault&year=2009, and the page where you can input to look at Los Angeles County (that link would not copy correctly. Isn’t that interesting? There was a space between Los and Angeles, and the link did not work, so this is the page before it.) http://lgcr.sco.ca.gov/EntityList.aspx?entity=SpecialDistrict&load=ByCounty&year=2009

I guess it gives one an idea about how much they are making They have ranges of salary and the perks for top mgrs are NOT listed VC Star did a phenomenal job of digging and showed that TO Coucil members earn $45k & $55K yr NOT the advertised $21k
“City Manager City Manager — $188,946 Agoura Hills” Why does a city mgr need to make MORE than the Gov/Fed judges PEOPLE should DEMAND a roll back to REASONABLE salaries and pensions!!
