VC Supervisor Linda Parks wrote in her mass email of late last night (1-8) that she is running for the Congressional seat in the 26th District. To quote Linda: “I’m running for Congress to fix the system and to do so, I’m not going to get rich off special interests.” She goes on to say that she will not take contributions from unions, or political action committees (PAC’s) or political parties.
Linda is the County Supervisor for the Conejo Valley. Who is now going to be lining up to run for her seat, in case she is victorious in November? Obviously, she will have to first become one of the 2 highest vote-getters in the June Primary, and then win in November, for her that position to open. We can just say that there is going to be a lot of scrambling going on behind the scenes, with the local political scene in a state of potentional change!
As posted yesterday, VC Supervisor Steve Bennett has already started his campaign for this Congressional seat. The next question is, when will State Senator Tony Strickland announce he is running, too?

Linda Parks will be the best thing to happen to this State in a long time. Get behind her, she’s great.

At this moment, I am ambivalent about Linda Parks run for Congress. I am as ambivalent to her as she is about declaring her political party.
