Photos from Sunday, 1-8. Nate ‘n Al deli delivery truck still in the parking lot of The Lakes mall, even though restaurant run by Caruso Afflilated has closed.
In the windows of the former deli are announcements of the new restaurant, Umami Burger, coming in its place. Previous to Nate ‘n Al’s, Sushi Ko was in that location.
I think of any mall but The Lakes, and there is an anchor store or two. Is that why there are so many restaurants and/or store closings there?

You mean that the angled parking didn’t help business? I was sure that we really needed another upscale shopping/dining venue in the area.
This piece of land probably drew more crowds when it was the abandoned Jungle Land and kids used to sneak through the fence to skateboard in the empty pools.
It’s too bad that big bucks is usually the winner over community.

They always seemed busy when I went by. They have gone through a lot of restaurants. i don’t understand why.
