Bringing You the News of

Janna Orkney, Editor

I started the Conejo Post in the summer of 2009, to create a Conejo Valley forum.  I wanted a place where we could exchange views on issues, opportunities and challenges that effect us all, no matter where we live the the valley, from Agoura Hills and Las Virgenes, to Newbury Park.

So that you know where I am coming from…I support competent, transparent local government, fiscal responsibility, balanced growth, along with green practices and saving open space.  I enjoy learning about local history, including the stories behind the filming of movies and TV shows in the area.  I like nature and local wild animal photos, too, and finding humor in every day life.  I think you will find these views and likes, mirrored on the Conejo Post pages.

I am involved in nonpartisan politics, and was re-elected in November, 2010, to the Triunfo Sanitation District board.  Triunfo provides wastewater collection and treatment for over 30,000 resident in east Ventura County.  The area served includes most of the Westlake Village part of Thousand Oaks, Oak Park, North Ranch, Lake Sherwood, and Bell Canyon.  Triunfo also owns and operates Oak Park Water Sevice and provides recycled water to part of the district, as well.  It is still a mystery to me how I ended up focusing on wastewater as a way of contributing to where I live!  However, it actually is a fascinating subject, and I will post about it now and then.

Please comment on the posts, and often!  When doing so, you can use your own name or a made-up one.  Be aware that there is a slight delay in the publishing of comments, so that they can be moderated first.  Comments are moderated, because the Conejo Post does not accept any that are racist, sexist, or name-calling.
